What’s cute, fuzzy and packed with stars? “The Muppets movie premiere at the El Capitan Theater in Hollywood last weekend.

Kermit, Miss Piggy and the gang joined director James Bobin and co-stars Jason Segel, Amy Adams, Chris Cooper and Rashida Jones on the green carpet for the big event. Other celebrities at the premiere included Neil Patrick Harris, Teri Polo, Joel McHale, Sir Anthony Hopkins, Lisa Rinna, Mickey Rooney and Jason Lee.

This is the first Muppet movie in 12 years, and features a new Muppet named Walter. According to reports, it was Segal who pushed for this latest film in the franchise.  “I think they should do movies and TV. It’s just, they’re such a positive comedic force and they need to be around and the forefront of comedy,” Segal told The Hollywood Reporter.

Bobin agreed. “I have a four-year-old daughter and two years ago, she had no idea who the Muppets were,” he said. “For me it’s like, that is wrong. She should know who they are and I’m really pleased that now she does, and loves them.”

The Muppets is due in theaters Nov. 23.
