Taylor Swift Honored by First Lady


First lady Michelle Obama presented Taylor Swift with the “Big Help Award” at the 25th Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards tonight.

The award is in recognition of Swift’s philanthropic work, which includes raising more $750,000 for tornado victims in Tennessee by selling tickets to the last dress rehearsal of her “Speak Now” tour.

The Grammy-winning singer also works with charities such as The Make-A-Wish Foundation, St. Jude Medical Center, The Red Cross and Habitat for Humanity.

The Kids’ Choice Awards were held tonight and hosted by Will Smith.

Did you know…

This is the fourth consecutive year that a celebrity has been given a “Big Help Award.” Previous winners include Justin Timberlake, Leonardo DiCaprio and this year’s presenter, first lady Michelle Obama, who was awarded for her “Let’s Move!” exercise campaign in 2010.
