Jamie Lee Curtis Is Back in Halloween

Jamie Lee Curtis puts us in the Halloween spirit a little early with the release of her new movie “Halloween” out this weekend and already breaking records. Her first Halloween movie was released in 1978 and it’s been 40 years since Jamie Lee Curtis’s character Laurie Strode survived a vicious attack from crazed killer Michael Myers on Halloween night. Locked up in an institution, Michael Myers escapes when his bus transfer goes horribly wrong. Laurie now faces a terrible showdown when the masked killer returns to Haddonfield, Ill. — but this time, she’s ready for him.

Jamie Lee Curtis says, “I’ve worked hard, but I don’t expect it โ€” and that’s what a gift is, when you don’t expect something, and then it’s given to you, and you open it and go, “wow, thank you! Here I sit at the age of 59, talking about a movie that I’ve been involved with for 40 years. About something, that it’s about something, and that all of my life experiences have added up to this moment is not something I had any idea would happen … I’ve been going around the world sort of high-fiving people with the astonishment of this moment.”

Laurie Strode … represents all women who’ve been aggressed, all women who’ve had to fight back, all women who’ve survived, and that’s a privilege, and not something I take lightly.” Trauma is a generational disease because it affects everybody in the family.

Jamie Lee Curtis is the daughter of Janet Leigh and Tony Curtis and godmother to Jake Gyllenhal. Jake Gyllenhal actually convinced Jamie Lee Curtis to star in the Halloween sequel and she listened to him. Some of the new content is relatable and already in just a couple days the movie has made $80.5 million setting records. Jamie Lee Curtis will turn 60 on November 22nd.
