Lady Gaga’s efforts to end youth bullying will take a giant leap forward, when she launches her “Born This Way” foundation at the end of this month.

The chart-topping singer and her mother will be hosting a kick-off event on Feb. 29 at Harvard University, and according to reports the VIP list is impressive.

Oprah Winfrey, spiritual advisor Deepak Chopra and U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius are planning to attend.

Most Charitable Celebrity of 2011 Is…

Lady Gaga is this year’s most charitable celebrity, according to DoSomething.org’s list of “Top 20 Celebs Gone Good.” This is her second year in a row at the top of the list, which ranks celebrities based on their charitable work.

The “Paparazzi” singer took the top spot for her anti-bullying campaign, which includes her Born This Way Foundation that was founded earlier this year. Lady Gaga’s Foundation is “Born”

Lady Gaga has teamed up with her mother, Cynthia Germanotta, to create a foundation that will help “empower youth and inspire bravery.” Named after her latest album, the Born This Way Foundation will tackle “issues like self-confidence, well-being, anti-bullying, mentoring and career development.”   

The singer made the announcement on her website www.ladygaga.com Wednesday. According to Gaga, the foundation will partner with organizations that include the John D. & Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, Harvard University and The California Endowment.
