Music icon Paul McCartney proved he still hasn’t had enough of silly love songs when he performed a tribute song for his new bride at their wedding reception last weekend.  The former Beatle married Nancy Shevell in a modest ceremony at a London registry office. 

McCartney’s daughter Stella made the event truly memorable by designing the bride’s gown, which was a knee-length, V-neck white dress with button detail on the bodice and sleeves.  The designer also made the groom’s suit, the bridesmaids’ dresses and her dress for the big day.

Afterward the wedding, the couple hosted a star-studded reception at McCartney’s home in St. John’s Wood.  Celebrity guests included former Beatle Ringo Starr, Rolling Stones’ guitarist Ronnie Wood, supermodel Kate Moss and Shevell’s second cousin, journalist Barbara Walters.

The couple plans to wait a week before taking off on a honeymoon. Meanwhile, McCartney has started preparing for his 11-date tour, which will kick off in Abu Dhabi next month. You can follow Paul on Twitter at www.twitter.com/PaulMcCartney
