Mark Wahlberg in Instant Family

Mark Wahlberg and Rose Byrnes star in new movie Instant Family, just in time for the holidays. “Instant Family” is about a couple who decide, change their mind and then decide again to take in three sibling foster children who they eventually adopt. Instant Family is a relevant movie that comes at a perfect time giving us a glimpse at human kindness and the test of patience and based on a true story. Mark told director Sean Anders he’d met some kids in foster care, and this was something that was important to him, too.

When Pete (Mark Wahlberg) and Ellie (Rose Byrne) decide to start a family, they stumble into the world of foster care adoption. They hope to take in one small child but when they meet three siblings, including a rebellious 15 year old girl (Isabela Moner), they find themselves speeding from zero to three kids overnight. Now, Pete and Ellie must hilariously try to learn the ropes of instant parenthood in the hopes of becoming a family. INSTANT FAMILY is inspired by the real events from the life of writer/director Sean Anders and also stars Octavia Spencer, Tig Notaro and Margo Martindale.

“Nearly 50 percent of children in foster care that are waiting to be adopted are age 8 and older,” said Rita Soronen, President and CEO of the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption. Actor and entrepreneur “Marky” Mark Wahlberg and his business partner Jay Feldman have donated $20,000 to a foster care organization in Ohio.

Did you know…Mark Wahlberg recently bought a car dealership in Columbus, Ohio.
