Sandra Bullock hosted the second annual amfAR International Gala Thursday night at the Chateau Marmont Hotel in Los Angeles. The event featured a tribute by Bullock to the late Elizabeth Taylor, who was an amfAR Founding International Chairman, and performances by singers Debby Harry and Sinead O’Connor.

The fundraising gala also included a poolside cocktail reception, dinner and a live auction, and was attended by celebrities Josh Duhamel, Selma Blair, Colin Farrell, Rose McGowan and Sean Penn. The next day, Duhamel posted a picture of O’Connor’s performance on his Facebook wall. He called the event “amazing,” praised the advances that have been made in HIV/AIDS research and told amfAR to “keep up the good work.”

According to amfAR, the evening was a success, raising $500, 000 for Aids Research. To learn more about amfAR go to www.amfar.org
